Riding the wind and breaking the waves - Hope Senlan assists in the low-carbon development of port shore power in a new era.

In February 2023, SLANVERT successfully launched the first domestic distributed ship shore power system, marking a significant milestone in the industry. This innovative solution not only provides economic and convenient benefits to customers but also promotes the digital transformation of the shore power industry and facilitates port terminals' transition into a low-carbon era.

The spotlight is on Xiamen's container automation terminal, known as the world's first fourth-generation automated terminal due to its exceptional operational efficiency. In addition to this achievement, the terminal has made remarkable progress in green smart port construction by implementing ship shore power for all berths and other intelligent applications. This accomplishment aligns with Hope Senlan's development concept of "innovation-driven development, leading future with intelligence" in port shore power.

Since 2016, seven sets of port shore power facilities have been constructed or renovated at this terminal across five berths. Notably, berth No.14 utilizes a 3MW high-voltage shore power device that converts a 10KV/50Hz power source to output ship load at 6.6kV/60Hz through phase shifting transformers and isolation transformers. This implementation has resulted in an annual reduction of approximately 1272 tons standard coal equivalent fuel consumption and about 4020 tons of CO2 emissions.

Berths No.15-17 are equipped with an integrated design scheme for distributed ship shore power systems that allows all-power devices to operate efficiently together while providing independent power supply to different ships. The advantages include low investment costs, small footprint, enhanced system efficiency with minimal loss, redundant combination of multiple power modules for reliability assurance, self-diagnostic function for predictive maintenance planning reducing risks associated with system failure shutdowns.
